Former Lambkins

JON COOPER

Jon Cooper played for Fort Collins High School from 2001-2004.  He was a three-year starter at center for the Lambkins and a two-time team captain.  After graduating from FCHS, he went on to have a stand-out career at the University of Oklahoma. He went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings.  Now, he is a graduate assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma. Jon has remained actively involved in the Lambkin program--he continues to help coach when he is in town, he provides motivation for the current players, and he is instrumental in running the Jon Cooper/FCHS Youth Football Camp in the summer.

                            

PHILIP WELCH

Phil Welch was a kicker for the FCHS program from 2003-2006.  During Phil's senior year at FCHS, he made a state-record 19 field goals--including one from 56 yards, and had scored a state-record 106 points.  He was also named to both the EA Sports (first-team) and USA Today (second-team) All-American lists.  After graduating, Phil went on to kick for the University of Wisconsin.  While there, he was honorable mention All-Big Ten, as well as a semi-finalist for the Lou Groza Award (presented to the nation's best kicker).  Phil is currently kicking for the Colorado Ice indoor football team.

                        

MATT YEMM

Matt Yemm played for the Lambkins from 2003-2006.  As a starter, his biggest contributions to the team came as quarterback, where he was a dual-threat--through the air and with his feet.  His speed and quickness were instrumental in helping the Lambkins reach the 5A semi-finals in 2006.  Matt was a team captain and an all-conference selection in 2006.  He went on to play for Colorado State University

                                

DERRICK CATLETT

Derrick Catlett played for the Lambkins from 2001-2004.  He was a three-year starter at tight-end, and was named second-team All-State as a junior.  After high school, he went on to play at Iowa State University.  After his college career, he was a graduate assistant with the Cyclones.  

                        


SCOTT ZICK

Scott Zick was a defensive back for the Lambkins from 2002-2005.  He was a three-year starter, an all-conference selection for two years, and he was named Lambkin of the Year after his senior year. After graduating, he went on to play at Fort Hays State.  From there, he transferred to Colorado State University, where he played for the Rams.

                                                  


TANNER HEDSTROM

Tanner Hedstrom played at FCHS from 2004-2007.  He was a two-year starter at center, and served as the long snapper for the Lambkins.  He went on to play for Colorado State University as a long snapper.  Recently Tanner was invited to the Denver Broncos mini-camp and is still currently looking to find a home in the NFL as a long snapper..

                              


HANS BROMAN

Hans Broman played for FCHS from 2004-2007.  He was a 2-year starter at tight end and running back, and he was a team captain his senior year.  After graduating, he went on to play for the Drake Bulldogs.  

                                                

ZACH DONALDSON

Zach Donaldson play for FCHS from 2003-2006.  He was a 2-year starter, a team captain in his senior year, and an important part of the Lambkins run to the state semi-finals in 2006.  He went on to play at Colorado State University.  

                                                     

MARTIN AWACHIE

Martin Awachie played for FCHS from 2001-2004.  He was an All-Conference defensive lineman who helped lead the Lambkins to the state semi-finals in 2004.  After graduating, he went on to play for the University of Northern Colorado.
